( 4893 ) Seitter is an asteroid of the main belt of the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst and his Bulgarian colleague, Violeta Ivanova at the Bulgarian National Astronomical Observatory on August 9, 1986 - was discovered florets (IAU code 071) in Smolyan.

The asteroid was named after the German astronomer Waltraud Seitter (1930-2007) named the first woman in Germany held a chair of astronomy and to 1995 as Director in charge of the Astronomical Institute of the University of Münster.
