At the Grammy Awards in 1962 for the fourth time the U.S. music award Grammy was awarded.

15 different fields of the music business were honored and gave 40 awards.

For the first time, a Ehrengrammy Lifetime Achievement was awarded, the first special award winners was Bing Crosby.
