5 Seconds of Summer

5 Seconds of Summer is a company established in Sydney 2011 Australian pop-rock band.

History

5 Seconds of Summer was founded in December 2011 by Luke Robert Hemmings, Michael Gordon Clifford and Calum Thomas Hood, who met at school ( Norwest Christian College ). They began to upload cover of popular songs on YouTube. My cover of Chris Brown and Justin Bieber hit Next 2 You reached to date, over 1,029,000 views. In December 2011, the drummer Ashton Fletcher joined Irwin, who previously did not think much of the band because they always forgot the lyrics in their videos and sounds played wrong, since the composition of the band has not changed. On YouTube, they reached over 37 million views and built a large fan base on social networks like Twitter and Facebook.

2012 attracted the band some interest from major music labels and publishers and eventually signed a contract with Sony ATV Music Publishing. Although they continued to receive no further support, except on Facebook and Twitter, reached her first musical release, an EP called Somewhere New, # 3 in the iTunes charts in Australia and landed in the top 20 in New Zealand and Sweden.

They reached great international success when Louis Tomlinson tweeted a link to the YouTube video of her song Gotta Get Out of the British-Irish boy band One Direction. In this Tweet, he mentioned that he was a fan of 5 Seconds of Summer already for a while. More attention reached 5 Seconds of Summer, when, on November 19, 2012 her single Out of My limit published Niall Horan and tweeted a link to her video that got so within 24 hours, more than 100,000 calls.

5 Seconds of Summer spent the second half of 2012 to write new songs, vobei helped them Christian Lo Russo and Joel Chapman of the Australian band Amy Meredith. With them, they wrote two more songs for their Somewhere New EP: Beside You and Unpredictable.

In December 2012, the boys went on a songwriting trip to London, where she worked with various well-known artists such as McFly, Roy Stride of Scouting for Girls, Nick Hodgson of Kaiser Chiefs, Jamie Scott, Jake Gosling, Steve Robson and James Bourne of Busted worked together.

Tours

In May 2012, announced 5 Seconds of Summer on tour dates for shows at the Factory Theatre in Sydney, in the Old Museum in Brisbane and at Xavier College in Melbourne. All the shows were sold out in less than two minutes, and thus they were planning a second show in each city that were sold out even after a short time. After the success of her in June 2012 published Unplugged EP the band went on their Twenty Twelve tour, they played in the Uni Bar in Adelaide, in the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney, in the Old Museum in Brisbane and at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne. All the shows were sold out within minutes.

In October 2012 5 Seconds of Summer toured as the opening act for Hot Chelle Rae and Cher Lloyd through Australia, they played in the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, at the Convention Centre in Brisbane, in the Festival Hall in Melbourne, at the Royal Theatre in Canberra and at the AEC Theatre in Adelaide.

On November 3, 2012 5 Seconds of Summer played their first international show at Zeal Cafe in Auckland, New Zealand. On November 25, they performed at the Metro Theatre in Sydney before moving to London for six months.

5 Seconds of Summer supported One Direction on their Take Me Home Tour. The tour started on February 23, 2013 at the O2 Arena in London, and 5 Seconds of Summer supported One Direction in the UK, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, among them were seven shows at the Allphones Arena in 5 Seconds of Summers hometown of Sydney.

They announced in May 2013 its Pants Down tour in Australia, the leg held six shows. On March 1, 2014 it was announced by the social network Twitter that she will accompany as support again during their Where We Are Tour 2014 North America and Canada One Direction.
