( 5126 ) Achaemenides is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun. ( 5126 ) Achaemenides was discovered on February 1, 1989 by the American astronomer Carolyn Shoemaker at Palomar Jean Spellman Observatory. He is associated with the Lagrangian point L4.

The asteroid is named after the mythological figure of Achaemenides, a warrior of the Greeks and that of Ulysses in the Trojan War.
