  • 520: Theodoric the Great leaves his tomb in Ravenna build, the Mausoleum of Theodoric.
  • 523: The philosopher Boethius, who had recently promoted before even the highest government officials in the Ostrogothic kingdom is, of King Theodoric on charges Boëthius have conspired against him, imprisoned the Great. In prison, Boethius wrote his major work The Consolation of Philosophy.
