( 5264 ) Telephus is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun.

( 5264 ) Telephus was discovered on 17 May 1991 by the American astronomers Carolyn and Eugene Shoemaker Jean Spellman Merle Shoemaker at Palomar Observatory. He is associated with the Lagrangian point L4.

The asteroid is named after the mythological figure of Telephus, son of Heracles and the eye, which showed the way to Troy the Greeks.
