52nd Infantry Division (Wehrmacht)

The 52nd Infantry Division was a military major unit of the Wehrmacht.

Division history

The 52nd ID was set up as part of the second wave formation in victories on 26 August 1939. A portion of the rod and the core staff were subordinated and re- occupied the 339th Infantry Division. In 1939, the 52nd ID border security tasks in the Saar Palatinate and Treves and then served as OKH Reserve in Kusel.

1940 at the start of the Western campaign marched the 52nd ID under the command of the 12th Army through Luxembourg and Belgium to northern France.
