- Restorations imperii: the Gothic war of the Eastern Roman Empire against the Ostrogoths in Italy leads to famine and devastation; Milan, which had conquered Byzantine troops recaptured by the Ostrogoths after a bitter fight. Emperor Justinian I sent his generals Narses to Italy, but this comes in a contrast to the already operating there and Belisarius is recalled again. The Ostrogoths have to break the siege of Rome in March after a year, coming on the Adriatic penetrate the East Romans from the south prior to Rimini.
