(5473) Yamanashi

( 5473 ) Yamanashi is an asteroid of the main belt, which by Japanese astronomers Yoshio Kushida and Osamu Muramatsu at Yatsugatake South Base Observatory ( IAU code 896 ) was discovered on November 5, 1988.

The asteroid was named after the Yamanashi Prefecture on the island of Honshu. The Yatsugatake South Base Observatory is located there. At the same time Prefecture serves as a starting point for tours to the Fuji, which is partly in their field.
