- 590: The Persian Great King Khosrau II is forced to flee before the usurper Bahram Chobin to Byzantium. 591 he penetrates, supported by the troops of the Emperor Maurikios, in the Sassanid Empire and can Bahram (VI ) defeat. These events also ends the Roman -Persian war (since 572).
- Spring 597: Augustine landed with his companions, sent by Pope Gregory the Great to England, on the Isle of Thanet on the Thames Estuary. The king of Kent, Aethelberht invites her to take her seat in Canterbury. Aethelberht itself is probably baptized around 601.
- 598/599: From Marseille, the plague spread again in the Frankish Empire.
