5th Army (Wehrmacht)

The 5th Army / Army High Command 5 (AOK 5 ) was a major unit of the Army of the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. She was supreme command each alternating Army Corps as well as many special forces.

List

The 5th Army was established on 25 August 1939, General der Infanterie Curt Liebmann. It acted defensively on the Siegfried Line and on the Western Front before the army staff in mid-October was transferred to Poland. From him later the 18th Army was formed.
