60-Meter-Band

The 60 meter band is an amateur band in the frequency range 5250-5450 kHz.

It is capable of producing both day and night NVIS connections. These are suitable because of their limited range and spread via space waves in the hilly terrain especially for regional emergency radio. Usually amateur bands are assigned by the International Radio Regulations. In the 60 - meter band releasing an experimental basis and nationally yet very different, based on a recommendation of the International Telecommunication Union. At the World Radio Conference 2012 it was decided to decide in 2015 on a final allocation to the amateur service.
