( 6006 ) Anaximander is one of the main asteroid belt, which by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809 ) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered on April 3, 1989.
The asteroid is named after the pre-Socratic Greek philosopher Anaximander (~ 610 BC -547 BC), named, considered the pupil and successor of Thales and how it is counted among the Milesians.
