(6051) Anaximenes

( 6051 ) Anaximenes is one of the main asteroid belt, which by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809 ) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered on 30 January 1992.

It was named in honor of Anaximenes of Miletus (ca. 585 BC - ca 525 BC ), a natural philosophers and astronomers of ancient Greece, which is counted to the pre-Socratics.
