( 6077 ) Messner is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered by Czech astronomer Zdenka Vávrová on Kleť Observatory (IAU code 046) in southern Bohemia near the town of Český Krumlov on October 3, 1980
It was named in honor of the South Tyrolean alpinist, adventurer and book authors Reinhold Messner ( b. 1944 ), who has climbed all 14 eight-thousanders first.
