( 6198 ) Shirakawa is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on January 10, 1992 by the Japanese astronomer Tsutomu Hioki and Shuji Hayakawa at the observatory in Okutama (IAU code 877) in Tokyo.

The asteroid was named after the city of Shirakawa in Fukushima Prefecture.
