( 6318 ) Cronkite ( provisional designation: 1990 WA) is an asteroid of the main belt, which crosses the orbit of Mars and was discovered on 18 November 1990 by the American astronomer Eleanor Helin at the Palomar Observatory in California.

It is named after the asteroid American journalist Walter Cronkite. The appointment was made on October 26, 1996
