  • Completion of the Frankish Fredegar Chronicle.
  • The Byzantine Emperor Constans II undertakes a campaign in the Balkans. He manages to defeat the Slavs in Macedonia and to provide the local territory again under Byzantine suzerainty. Part of the defeated Slavs is relocated to Asia Minor.
  • The nobility proclaimed Mercia Wulfhere king and distributes the Northumbrian rule.
  • By 658: After the death of Samos he founded the Slavic empire disintegrates again into individual tribes.
