66th British Academy Film Awards
The 66th award from the British Academy Film Awards took place on February 10, 2013 at the Royal Opera House in London. The film awards from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts ( BAFTA ) were awarded in 24 categories. The event was hosted by the British actor and presenter Stephen Fry, who had already taken over this function for the eighth time.
As the best movie of Ben Affleck's thriller Argo has been excellent, Affleck also won the award for best director. To the best British film of the James Bond film Skyfall was chosen. The most awards received the musical Les Misérables film with a total of four awards. Steven Spielberg's historical drama Lincoln, which had received ten nominations, the most nominations, went with a single award for Daniel Day- Lewis for best actor out of the race. The award for best actress Emmanuelle Riva won for her role in Michael Haneke's chamber play Love, which was named best foreign language film.

Election procedures
For a nomination at the 66th British Academy Film Awards all feature films were considered, which were published between 1 January and 31 December 2012 in the United Kingdom, or the the case of a planned publication until February 8, 2013 from the lender in advance Academy were presented. For short films and animated shorts special rules applied, so only British productions have been approved for these categories.
In 2013, the number of ballots was reduced to two, which received the announcement of a long list. In the category of Best Film, as well as in the four categories performer all of the approximately 6,500 members of BAFTA could vote. In the other categories, only members of the relevant Chapter of the Academy were eligible to vote on the best performance of a young British writers, director and producers voted on a jury. The nominations in the category of best young actor were determined by a jury of the prize winners, however, was determined as the audience prize in an online vote.
The nominations for the British Academy Film Awards were announced on 9 January 2012. The most nominations received Lincoln with ten nominations, followed by Les Misérables and Ang Lee's film adaptation Life of Pi: Life of Pi, each with nine nominations. Eight nominations received James Bond 007: Skyfall. Of these four films, however, received only Ang Lee a nomination for Best Director.
