(7009) Hume

( 7009 ) Hume is one of the main asteroid belt, which by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809 ) of the ( ESO) in Chile was discovered on August 21, 1987 European Southern Observatory.

The asteroid was named after the Scottish philosopher, economist and historian David Hume (1711-1776) named, was one of the most important representatives of the Scottish Enlightenment and the flow of philosophical empiricism and sensualism is attributed.
