(704 ) Interamnia is an asteroid of the outer main asteroid belt, which was discovered on October 2, 1910 by Vincenzo Cerulli at his private observatory in Teramo (Italy). It was named after the ancient Roman name of Teramo, Interamnia.

Interamnia moves at a distance of 2.6 ( perihelion ) to 3.5 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in 5.4 years around the sun; the orbital eccentricity is 0.15. The track is relatively highly inclined at 17.3 ° to the ecliptic.

With a diameter of about 316 km Interamnia is the sixth largest object in the main belt. The asteroid has a dark carbon-rich surface with an albedo of 0.074. Observations have shown that the surface procure unusual, possibly dust-free. In about 8 hours and 44 minutes Interamnia rotates around its own axis.
