- Charlemagne writes in the " Capitulae de villis " an administrative reform of the Frankish Empire that: The domain administrator will be required to report to the king annually on their income report; the more than 200 counts of the empire controlled by King messengers ( " missi dominici "); at the Carolingian court, the administration is carried out by Palatinate court and chancery.
- On the orders of Charlemagne the Fossa Carolina is excavated at Treuchtlingen. The three-kilometer long channel connecting the Swabian Rezat and Altmühltherme.
- The Franks lose Girona to the Moors, from which they are defeated at Narbonne. Only 801 manages the reconquest.
- The Moors are subject to Lugo against Asturias, without this having a significant impact on the Moorish domination.
- By 793: Death of the last independent ruler of Sussex, Ealdwulf, after which the country is directly managed by King Offa of Mercia, in response to which it had fallen.
