7th Chess Olympiad

The 7th Chess Olympiad was held to 14 August 1937 in Stockholm ( Sweden) from 31 July.

Survey

It was attended by 19 teams that determined the Olympic champion in a round-robin tournament. Germany this time was not represented. 94 players took part in the competition. The team tournament was played with four teams, where a replacement player was allowed. Grand Hotel Royal in Stockholm was the venue. The cooling-off period was two and a half hours for 40 moves, then one hour for each 16 moves. The rankings were determined based on the board points (BP) and Team Points (MP).
