( 8) Flora is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt, which was discovered on 18 October 1847 by John Russell Hind as the eighth asteroid. It was named after celestial bodies Flora, the Roman goddess of flowering of spring.

Flora has a diameter of 135 km. It has a relatively bright surface with an albedo of 0.243. While the opposition flora reaches a brightness of 8.7 mag and is it one of the brightest asteroids in the night sky.
