81-740/741

The series 81-740/741 is currently the latest series of subway cars of the Russian engineering company Metro Wagon mach. Besides the numerical class designation, the car also called Russi sealed (Russian Русич, an otherwise obsolete term for a resident of the Rus or simply for a Russian ). The relatively weak claimed subway lines (especially the so-called " light metro " ) designed trains are currently in the Moscow Metro and the Metro Sofia in Bulgaria in use.

History of development

With the development of a completely new type of car than the previously come to use in the Moscow metro coaches of the series 81-717/714 and the predecessor model series, the Moscow Metro instructed its main supplier, the Metro Wagon mash -Werke in Mytischtschi near Moscow, beginning, 2001. few years earlier, a network of several so-called "mini- metro lines " in conclusion was drawn for the Russian capital, which should be a light rail in principle. Above all, the new business district Moscow City had to get a quick transport links, with the usual Metro was initially considered too expensive for this purpose. Later, however, the concept of an independent rail network for various reasons, was rejected, and especially for Moscow City they found another solution: it should be connected to the existing Filjowskaja - line a new branch, the trains should sail alternating with the main line. Because of relatively low utilization of this line, this solution seemed straightforward and later - also implemented - in the years 2005 to 2006. In addition, Moscow in the early 2000s for the construction of a so-called " light metro " line decided in the satellite settlement Butovo, to save the cost against the construction of an ordinary subway there. Both the branch to Moscow City and the construction of the light metro vehicles required, which should be fully compatible with conventional Moscow Metro lines. In addition, the new series should be optimized for the winter outdoor use - a feature that just do not have the 81-717/714er trains, as they do not include autonomous ventilation of the interior.

Since the opening of the new metro line has already been recognized by Butovo in December 2003, remained Metro Wagon mash about two years to develop the new model according to specifications. Since it seemed impossible to design a completely new car model within this period, they took on the development on the basis of the trains a few years earlier trial-manufactured series 81-720/721, which was developed in Mytischtschi since the early 1990s. Total number of improvements have been made both in the interior and in the exterior decoration of the car on this basis. For the first time in the Russian underground history, it was at the newly developed car around each double articulated cars. The trains were given a three-phase asynchronous motor which came in the first production series from the production of Alstom ( until 2005 also took Metro Wagon mash the production of a similar engine to which has since been installed in trains in this series ). Similar to the previous model 81-740 designated the front of the car with the driver's cab and the intermediate 81-741 cars.

Finally, in December 2003 has the equipped with triple traction of the double wagons Butowskaja production line into operation. But that the development of the series was not completed: in winter 2004, there was on the line several times to technical problems with the brake system of trains, after which they are at times even completely withdrawn from circulation and replaced by trains of the series 81-717/714 had to be. In the coming months, the technical imperfection of brakes by Alstom and Metro Wagon Masch were explored and resolved together. Since 2004, the Czech - Russian cars are on the Butowskaja - line back in full in use. As the technology has since proven largely for outdoor use, the Moscow Metro decided to order this series not only for the light metro, but also for some, relatively weak underutilized, conventional lines. To find the Russi Czech trains since September 2005 on the Filjowskaja - line use, which at that time was also the turning to Moscow City just. Meanwhile, the series has replaced the old 81-740/741 there Type E completely. Since late 2006, Russi sealed trains are also on the Arbatsko - Pokrowskaja line in use and have now been largely replaced the equally outdated existing fleet.

2005 purchased the Sofia metro trains six series 81-740/741 that there ever since - to be used - together with the number of years previously supplied 81-717/714er car made by Metro Wagon mach. 2009, an additional three Russi sealed trains were delivered to Sofia.

Developed in 2008 Metro Wagon Masch on behalf of the Moscow Metro, a modification of the series, the main difference compared to conventional trains is that each dual carriage has six instead of four doors per side. This allows for a more rapid exchange of passengers and thus allows the use of the Russian Tschs on intensive claimed routes. For the first time in the history of Russian metro carriage building the trains this modification also received air conditioning in the passenger compartment. After a trial period 2008/2009, the first train of the new series was delivered to the depot of the ring line in July 2009. 2010 respectively, followed by several trains for the Koltsevaya and the Arbatsko - Pokrowskaja - line, for 2011 more acquisitions are planned. Meanwhile, only this modification of the Russian Czech series is produced and delivered.
