( 8106 ) Carpino is an asteroid of the main belt, which from the Italian astronomer Marco Cavagna and Piero Sicoli Osservatorio Astronomico on Sormano (IAU code 587 ) was discovered on 23 December 1994.

The asteroid was after Mario Carpino ( born 1957 ), an astronomer at Osservatorio Astronomico di Brera named. He studied the dynamics of the planetary system in the projects LONG STOP and SPACEGUARD and in 1996 at the founding of the Spaceguard Foundation in Rome its first secretary.
