  • Horik Godfredsson becomes King of Denmark (according to other sources until 813).
  • Peace treaty between Charlemagne and the Danish realm; the Eider is a state border determined (up to 1864).
  • JULY 26: The Bulgarians under Khan Krum add the Byzantine Empire at the Battle of Warbiza pass to the heaviest defeat since the Battle of Adrian Opel in the year 378. Emperor Nicephorus I fall in battle. His successor is his son Staurakios. This, however, is seriously wounded after the battle and the beginning of October overthrown by his brother Michael I. and banished to a monastery.
  • On the Franconian Diet of Aachen sending an army decided to Pannonia, to settle the disputes between the Avars and Slavs.
  • Renewed, eight-year insurgency against the Muslims in Toledo. Charlemagne now controlled all of Catalonia.
  • Mörschwil, Pfäffikon, Bubikon Zezikon and are mentioned for the first time in a document.
