( 8125 ) Tyndareus is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun.

( 8125 ) Tyndareus was discovered on September 30, 1973 by the Dutch astronomer Cornelis Johannes van Houten, Ingrid van Houten - Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels at Palomar Observatory. He is associated with the Lagrangian point L4.

The asteroid is named after the mythological figure of Tyndareus, king of Sparta and the father of Clytemnestra and Helen.
