(8343) Tugendhat

( 8343 ) Tugendhat is an asteroid of the outer main belt, which on 4 October 1986 by the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos on Kleť Observatory (IAU code 046) was discovered in Český Krumlov.

The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids that is named after (158 ) Koronis. The timeless ( nichtoskulierenden ) orbital elements of ( 8343 ) Tugendhat are almost identical with those of five smaller when one of the absolute brightness of 14.4, 16.6, 16.5, 17.3 and 17.3 compared to 13.5 emanates, asteroids: (37184) 2000 WC53, ( 231528 ) 2008 SV103, ( 286388 ) 2001 YT12, ( 309 024 ) in 2006 and UO130 ( 319 026 ) in 2005 VM18.

( 8343 ) Tugendhat is named after the Villa Tugendhat, a residential building in the city of Brno, which was built in 1929-1930 by the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The naming of ( 8343 ) Tugendhat was proposed by the Czech astronomer Jana Ticha by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) on 9 March 2001. According to Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was in the same year, on August 4, 2001, an asteroid of the named middle main belt: ( 24666 ) Miesvanrohe.
