(90 ) Antiope is an asteroid of the outer main asteroid belt, which was discovered on October 1, 1865 by Karl Theodor Robert Luther.

Of the heavenly bodies was named after the Amazon Antiope from Greek mythology, who was kidnapped by Theseus.

Antiope is double and consists of two each asteroid 110 km large bodies which rotate synchronously in 16.52 hours at a distance of 170 kilometers. Their surface is dark and carbonaceous, with an albedo of 0.060. The low density of only 0.6 g / cm ³ is an indication that it is not to compact body, but an accumulation of dust and rocks which is penetrated by 60 % voids.
