9,10- diphenylanthracene, DPA is also referred to as a slightly yellow colored polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon which is used in glow sticks as a phosphor. According to the chemiluminescence to emit blue light in this case.
In addition, it is an organic semiconductor and is used as a starting material for the production of blue organic light emitting diodes.
The formed therefrom chlorinated hydrocarbon, 2- chloro-9 ,10- diphenylanthracene, also serves as a phosphor in the blue-green glow sticks.
