(9499) Excalibur

( 9499 ) Excalibur is one of the main asteroid belt, which on 29 September 1973 by the Dutch astronomer Cornelis Johannes van Houten, Ingrid van Houten - Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels at Palomar Observatory ( observatory code 675) was discovered in California.

The asteroid is named after Excalibur, the sword of the legendary King Arthur.
