A'ala Hubail

A'ala Hubail ( علاء حبيل, DMG ʿ ʾ Alā Hubail; born June 25, 1982 in Sitra ) is a Bahraini football player.

He played 2002-2004 with his brother Mohamed Hubail for Bahraini club Al -Ahli and the national team of Bahrain. 2004 changed the Hubails to Al- Gharafa (Qatar ). Ever since winning the Golden Boot at the Asia Cup 2004 ( together with Ali Karimi ) he is considered one of the best strikers of Asia. In the election of Asia's player of the year, he finished second behind Ali Karimi. With Bahrain, he advanced to the last play-off round of the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany, where the island kicker against Trinidad and Tobago were eliminated with 1:1 and 0:1.

Life

During the protests in Bahrain 2011/2012 Hubail helped with demonstrations as a medic. Both he and his brother Mohamed were arrested in April 2011. Hubail was probably tortured.
