A Best (proper spelling: A BEST) is the first compilation album of the successful Japanese singer Ayumi Hamasaki. The album is # 2 in the fastest-selling albums in a week, worldwide. The first place goes to Hikaru Utada, since they could sell more with their studio album, Distance, which was released on the same day.

The album contains the singles released, including two tracks from their studio albums, A Song for XX and The Who .... Mainly composed the title of the fan favorites. For the album, there were new admissions to the songs A Song for XX, Trust and Depend on You, so they wanted to show their vocal progress. Background
There was controversy surrounding the album, since it was the same as Hikaru Utada 's Distance publication date album. Avex Trax, the record company Ayumi is said to have the compilation as a move against Hikaru 's album planned.
