A Bite of China

China on the tongue or Shejian shang de Zhongguo (Chinese舌尖 上 的 中国, pinyin Shéjiān shàng de Zhōngguó, English A Bite of China / Tasting China, China on the tongue ', etc.) is produced by CCTV seven-part television documentary on Chinese delicacies that from 14 to 22 May 2012 at the station had CCTV -1 Premiere. It is an introduction to the households and restaurants of various regional cuisines of the so-called Chinese cuisine and the other peoples of China, including the everyday food of the very different eating habits and taste aesthetics. The seven each about fifty -minute episodes of the documentary were filmed in a total of thirteen months to seventy different places in China. Director of the documentary was Chen Xiaoqing. The film is considered to be the highest rated documentary in China since the 1990s. In June 2012, program director Liu Wen announced a continuation of the documentation for the end of the year.
