Action
After Charlie Brown and his friends have lost the first game of the new baseball season once again, looking for Charlie Help on psychiatric status of Lucy. You can not help but Charlie, quite the opposite: they make it that Charlie is even sadder. The next morning tells Lucy that held a spelling bee at school. She makes jokes about Charlie's possible participation. Linus like the idea, but Lucy, Patty and Violet laugh from Charlie Brown. Charlie goes to New York to attend the major national spelling bee. Linus wishes him good luck and gives him his security blanket with, then Linus at home suffers severe withdrawal symptoms. He decides to go with Snoopy to New York and to bring the security blanket. In Charlies Hotel arrived, Charlie must admit that he does not know where the ceiling might be. He suspects he might have forgotten in the New York Public Library. Linus and Snoopy are on their way there, but standing in front of closed doors. Linus and Snoopy go back to the hotel where Charlie just attracts the competition. The still plagued by severe withdrawal symptoms Linus has horrified to discover that Charlie Brown polished with his security blanket shoes. Linus pounces on his security blanket and is happy again. Then, Snoopy, Linus and Charlie take on the road. Home sitting Sally, Lucy and the other children in front of the TV, where the competition will be broadcast live. A participant after another ruled out until only Charlie and another boy are left. Then Charlie to spell the word beagle. He spelled B -E -A -G -E -L and eliminated. When Charlie, Linus and Snoopy come home, it is already dark. No one is there to greet them.
The next afternoon, Linus, Charlie Brown wants to visit. His sister Sally tells Linus, Charlie would have the whole day in the dark in his bed. Linus goes to the devastated Charlie and talks to him. After Linus is gone and Charlie thought about his words, he gets up and gets dressed. He goes outside, where the other children already waiting for him.
