A Chinese Ghost Story III is a wuxia film from the year 1991.

Action

A young monk named Fong and his gray-haired master stay on their migration in a haunted forest. While the old master of the challenge by the supernatural beings, the young Fong feels at the beautiful fairy Lotus attracted to - is ruled by an evil witch tree - as in the first part of the trilogy.

Background

The third part of these stories seem to be a remake of the first part of the series. In fact, it is a direct continuation of the events after the tree demon who is " banned " in the first part only for 100 years, is resurrected. For the German DVD version of the film had to be completely re-synchronized, the synchronization script has been completely redesigned.

Criticism

Encyclopedia of the International Films: The continuation of the first two ghost stories (1987 and 1990) is born again more of the melodramatic story and puts greater emphasis on comedic accents. " Splatter " scenes are kept to a minimum; instead hide in the action some allusions to the current political problems in Hong Kong.
