A friend of mine is a German movie from 2006 by Sebastian Schipper. It tells the story of a friendship between two completely different characters beyond social conventions.

Action

Karl works as a talented and professionally successful young manager at an insurance company. In the context of an insurance project his boss ordered him in order to " market monitoring " to a car rental company. There Karl hits the life artist Hans and helps him through the right tip for a job at the car rental.

Hans, the full-time philosopher and an old DAF 66 runs, the introverted Karl annoying at first with his constant distance and irreverent questions, however, brings him more and more to perceive one's own feelings and deal with them. Hans makes Karl with his girlfriend known place, which he calls his "queen" and working as a flight attendant. Charles falls in love with place, which puts him in an emotional quandary, Hans, however, is a triangular situation laid back against. The emotionally overwhelmed Karl retires, falls into old patterns of behavior and tries to distinguish itself: he outs himself against Hans as an insurance clerk and snubbed him with the statement that they had nothing in common and in his view, had no friends.

Karl returns to his desk, but Hans and location can not forget. He longs for friendship and resumes contact with Hans on. Together with him, he wants to visit site which is drawn to Barcelona. With the help of a bet Hans Karl brings to driving alone with his DAF.

Special

For film premiere in October 2006 took Daniel Brühl and Jürgen Vogel to come to trial in the Guinness Book of World Records. Their goal was to record the premiere of Will Smith, who had visited England in three movie premieres in twelve hours.
