The A- HMAO (Alternative names: Big Flowery Miao and Flowery Miao ) are an ethnic group of the Miao nationality in the People's Republic of China.


They are originally from the Chinese provinces of Yunnan and Sichuan. Meanwhile, a part of them lives in Guizhou. The number of A- HMAO exceeds 400,000.

They speak the Hmong language Hmong Dian and that is designated by Chinese officials as a dialect of the Miao. Previously they lived in slavery for Nosu Yi.

Many of the A- HMAO are Christians and it is a New Testament in their language available.
