A Rush of Blood to the Head (English for: " An increase of blood to the head " ) is the second studio album by English rock band Coldplay. It was recorded between September 2001 and May 2002 London and Liverpool and published on 26 August 2002.

Background

The band started just a week after the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 to record their second studio album. The past events have been partially specified as inspiration for the lyrics and influenced the songwriting process. The group wrote over 20 songs for the album, the first of which was In My Place, which also brought out as the first single from the album the band. According to singer Chris Martin, this was also the ultimate song that "just occur " let the other songs.

Musically, the band has expanded their sound field, among other things, are more common piano and electric guitar sounds in appearance than on the previous album.
