A Song of Joy

A Song Of Joy is a song by the Spanish singer Miguel Rios from the year 1970. The song debuted in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at # 1 on the charts.

On the occasion of the 200th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven, the Argentine bandleader Waldo de los Rios arranged the Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th Symphony in the style of James Last. The species not related to Miguel Rios Waldo Rios committed these as a singer. A Song of Joy was a worldwide hit. In Germany he held for 15 weeks at number one. Ríos sang the title among others in Germany hit movie The skin of the strongest twin around.

Miguel Rios ' follow-up single was the composition of sunshine and rainbow by Ralph Siegel, but this disappeared after four weeks from the hit parade.
