A-Trane

The A -Trane is an association founded in autumn 1992 Jazz Club in Berlin- Charlottenburg ( Bleibtreu Strasse 1, Pestalozzi Street corner ). He is one of Berlin's jazz clubs with an international program. It is open daily, usually with a constantly changing schedule. On Saturdays there is a jam session "Jazz after Midnight " instead. The club holds 80 up to 100 guests seated at tables around the stage, and is thus relatively small (the stage has about 12 square meters). He has long been also one of the venues of the Berlin Jazz Festival.

Owner since 1997, the Turkish-born ex- graphic designer and basketball Sedal Sardan who tried in 2002 to a larger live club ( with restaurant ), the "Soul Trane " in the " style of work" to expand ( as of 2003 in the other hand as the " Soul Train" had continued ) and the " BeBop bar " in Kreuzberg started in 1991. He also acts regularly as an MC. In April 2013, Sedal Sardan was awarded the German music award " ECHO " in the category of jazz as a promoter of jazz.

In April 2011, the A-Trane was awarded the Live Entertainment Award (LEA) in the category " Best Jazz Club " of Germany. 2013 handed Culture Minister Bernd Neumann said the club Venue Program Award 2013, awarded this year for the first time for the " culturally unique quality live music program in 2012 ."

In the A -Trane occurred among other things, Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Lee Konitz, Brad Mehldau, Larry Coryell, Diana Krall, Jasper van't Hof, Esbjörn Svensson Till Bronner.
