A vindication of the rights of woman

A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with strictures on Political and Moral Subjects, on German defense of women's rights, is the main work of the writer and women's rights activist Mary Wollstonecraft. It appeared in 1792 and is considered one of the first European writings of feminism.

In her work, Mary Wollstonecraft took to the educational and political theories of their time position. They wanted to deny women an education and training largely. Mary Wollstonecraft argued that women alike possess a right to education. This is necessary because they erzögen children, among other things, and because they should be partners of their husbands and less pure wives. Occasion for Mary Wollstonecraft's writing was a publication of Charles -Maurice de Talleyrand -Périgord from the year 1791. Therein he had taken the view that for a women oriented to the design of household chores training was sufficient.

The book was so well known that William Godwin could call the memory of his late wife, Memoirs of the Author of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman and forego the mention of her name in the title in England in the early 19th century.
