A. I. Katsina-Alu

Aloysius Katsina - Alu Iyorgyer ( born August 28, 1941 in Ushongo, Benue State, Nigeria ) is a Nigerian judge and since 2009 President of the Supreme Federal Court of Nigeria (Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria)

Biography

After visiting several elementary schools (Primary School) and Mount St. Michael's Secundary School from 1956 to 1961 he first a course at the Nigerian Military Training College in Kaduna and then from 1962 to 1963 at Mons Military Training College Aldershot, Hampshire, England.

He then studied at the Ahmadu Bello University and then from 1964 to 1967 at the Inns of Court School of Law, at the Gibson & Weldeon College of Law and the School of Studies, University of London Law. After graduation, he was admitted in October 1967 as a lawyer in England. After his return, he completed 1967-1968 postgraduate studies at the Nigerian Law School.

Thereafter, he worked briefly as a lawyer, but then moved into the civil service and was 1969-1977 Counsel of the Port Authority (Nigerian Ports Authority ) of Lagos. In the meantime, he earned a diploma in 1972 still in business English. After a verübergehenden new career as a lawyer in Gboko he was from 1978 to 1979 Attorney General ( Attorney General ) and Justizkommissionär of the state of Benue.

Subsequently, he was appointed in 1979 to the judge at the Supreme Court of Justice of the State of Benue ( Benue State High Court of Justice ) in Makurdi. He held until his appointment as judge of the Nigerian Court of Appeal ( Court of Appeal ) This Office.

Since 1998, Katsina - Alu Judge at the Federal Supreme Court of Nigeria (Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria). On December 30, 2009, he was eventually to succeed Idris Kutigi its President ( Chief Justice ).
