A1 motorway (Slovenia)

Called The Avtocesta A1 (Slovenian for, A1 '), also Štajersko - primorska avtocesta ( Slow for, Styria Coast country - highway '), is the longest highway in Slovenia and combines, among other things, the three largest cities in the country, Ljubljana / Laibach, Celje / Cilli and Maribor / Marburg. Since independence no longer holds the relation Villach- Zagreb, but the relation Graz -Trieste as the most important Slovenian main traffic artery. In time of Yugoslavia, the relation initially wore the number 6, later the number 10 The last part, the eastern bypass of Maribor / Marburg between Pešnica and Slivnica, was released on 14 August 2009 for traffic.

Together with the Slovenian motorway A5, it forms the direct connection of the North Adriatic ports of Koper and Trieste to Hungary ( " NATO " corridor ) and in the Ukraine. As part of the European transport network (TEN- T), the highway is part of the road infrastructure of the PAN corridor V. Accordingly, the use by vehicles in international road freight.
