A1 Team Canada

A1 Team Canada (English stylization: A1Team.Canada ) was the Canadian National Team in the A1GP series.

History

A1 Team Canada was founded by Wade Cherwayko; as team acted in the first two seasons the British team John Village Automotive and after the Irish team Status Grand Prix.

In the first season the team was mediocre. After it was able to achieve his first points at Brands Hatch by Sean McIntosh in the feature race in ninth place, followed by third place in the feature race at the Euro Speedway Lausitz, the first podium finish. The season highlight was the victory in the main race is in Sentul, in which McIntosh was started from 23 and last place on the grid. He thus succeeded one time in A1GP history catching up. The team finished the season in tenth place with 59 points.

The following season it was unchanged. The new regular drivers James Hinchcliffe succeeded in the sprint race at Brno, a second place in the following main race he lay for a long time in the lead until he collided with an overtaking maneuver of the Malaysian team with Alex Yoong and dropped back to fifth place. The team scored no further podium more, it ended the season in eleventh place overall with 33 points.

In the third season, the team was able to slightly increase. On three podium finishes (second and two third places) finally followed in the sprint race in Durban victory, which the first pole position of the team history had preceded. Driver in all cases was Robert Wickens. After another podium, a second place in the sprint race in Shanghai, the team finished the season at the ninth position overall with 75 points.

In the fourth season, the team was officially listed, for example in the Championship table, but did not appear to.
