A1 Team Malaysia

A1 Team Malaysia (English stylization: A1Team.Malaysia ) was the Malaysian national team in the A1GP series.

History

A1 Team Malaysia was founded by former Formula 1 driver Alex Yoong, as Seat Holder acted from the fourth season, the A1 Team Malaysia Sdn Bhd; the team was from the beginning a separate team one.

In the first season, the team was one of the strongest. Already on premiere race weekend at Brands Hatch could enter by Alex Yoong his first points with a fifth place in the feature race, followed by numerous other points standings. The first stage could celebrate second place in the feature race in Sentul. The most successful race weekend of the season saw the team in Shanghai, where Alex Yoong finished the Sprint race as the winner and the main race in second. It finished the season in fifth place on 74 points.

The following season proved to be unchanged for the team. In the second race weekend at Brno the team with Yoong at the wheel scored a double victory, it was able to record another victory in the sprint race in Mexico City. More Results on the podium were from though. The team finished the season in sixth place overall with 55 points.

In the third season, the team experienced a sharp drop in performance. It came on six points results, including a fourth-place finish in the feature race in Shanghai by Alex Yoong as the best result, not out, and finished the season at the 15th position overall with 25 points.

In the fourth season, the team was back to the level of the first two years. With a win in the sprint and a second place in the feature race at Zandvoort Fairuz Fauzy was started by highly successful in the new season. It followed with a third place in Portimão main race another podium position. The team finished the season in sixth place overall on 43 points.

A1 Team Malaysia has participated in all 39 race weekends of the A1GP series.

Driver

A1 Team Malaysia sat on race weekends, three different drivers, all of whom also took part in the race itself. In addition came the official test at Silverstone 2006 Nik Iruwan used.
