A2 motorway (Slovenia)

The Avtocesta A2 (Slovenian for, highway A2 '), also Gorenjsko - Dolenjska avtocesta ( Slow for, Carniola Carniola - highway ') called, is the second longest highway in Slovenia. Within the A2 Slovenia, among others, Kranj and Novo mesto binds to the central region of Ljubljana / Laibach, on the borders of the country it connects Villach with the Croatian capital Zagreb.

While the membership of Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia, this route of Autoput Bratstvo i jedinstvo and had the number 1 As in Croatia has received this number after the disintegration of Yugoslavia another highway. Thus, the A 2 between Ljubljana and Zagreb is continuous four-lane passable. After the release of the section Peračica - Podbrezje (2nd lane ) on 28 October 2011, the A2 is four lanes open to traffic from Karawankentunnel via Ljubljana to the Slovenian-Croatian border crossing Obrezje / Bregana with the exception of the single-tube Karawankentunnel.
