The Rijksweg 4 is a Dutch Rijksweg that runs from Amsterdam to Woensdrecht. From there, he continues as a Belgian A12 past Antwerp continued to Brussels. The A4 is interrupted three times between Delft and Schiedam, between Hoogvliet and Klaaswaal and between Dinteloord and neck Teren. Interruptions
Interruption between Delft and Schiedam
This 7 km long section between the exit Delft -Zuid and the Knooppunt Kethelplein could not be built as planned in 2006, as the plans of conservationists were repeatedly disturbed. To this end, the present municipality Midden- Delfland put repeatedly objected to the plans of the Rijkswaterstaat, when she saw her vulnerable nature reserve.
The latest plans envisage that almost the entire A4 is tunneled in the range between Delft and Schiedam for the protection of the nature reserve. Construction began on 26 April 2012. Completion is scheduled for late 2015.
Interruption between Hoogvliet and Klaaswaal
The section between the Knooppunt Benelux and the exit Numansdorp is the second missing piece of A4. The motorway will run over to Hoogvliet, Poortugaal and Oud- Beijerland according to current plans. They want the rivers Oude Maas and Spui cross.
The Rijkswaterstaat has the intention that the 11km long piece 2020Vorlage: Future / to be in 5 years, built by a private construction company and then operated as a toll road.
Interruption between Dinteloord and Halsteren

Knooppunt Burgerveen - Leiden
In September 2007, the 14 km long section between the Knooppunt Burgerveen and suffering has been fully extended. The northern piece was completed in 2010 as planned. Halsteren - Woensdrecht
The section between Halsteren and Woensdrecht is the last section of the A4. The highway was rebuilt between Halsteren and Bergen op Zoom in 2007. Between the Knooppunt Zoom country and the Knooppunt Markiezaat the route is double numbered, as it provides a common road to the A58 there.
