The Rijksweg 50 ( Abbreviation: RW 50) - Short Form: Autosnelweg 50 ( Abbreviation: A50 ) / autoroute 50 ( Abbreviation: N50 ) - is a Dutch motorway. The highway begins in Eindhoven in the eastern province of North Brabant and runs over Arnhem in the province of Gelderland and Apeldoorn to Emmeloord in the north of the province of Flevoland.

Originally Rijksweg was 50 from the interchange Hintham (A2 ), a district ' s Hertogenboschs until the motorway junction Joure (A7 ) in the Dutch province of Friesland. The part between the interchange and the interchange Emmeloord Joure is now a section of the A6, while the part between the interchange and the interchange Hintham Paalgraven now part of the A59.

A50 Eindhoven - Oss

The connection of the A50 to the motorways around Eindhoven to March 2010 due to road crossings ( at-grade intersections ) and made ​​possible by traffic lights. In the course of the conversion and extension of the beltway around Eindhoven ( A58, A2, A67 ) from four to eight lanes the highway junction Ekkersrijt / Bokt became extended to a full interchange with connecting ramps. The section between Eindhoven and Oss is 35 km long, where the outer layer is made of a continuous piece of concrete. This type top coat was used here for the first time on a large scale in the Netherlands.

To keep the harassment as low as possible traffic noise of the A50 close to the living ends was used as the top layer of porous asphalt.

A50 Oss - Hattemerbroek

The A50 and A12 share a route between the motorway junction Grijsoord and the motorway junction Waterberg. For this reason, this section has been expanded to six lanes.

Autoweg N50 Hattemerbroek - Emmeloord

From the motorway junction Hattemerbroek to the motorway junction Emmeloord the Rijksweg 50 is not created as a motorway, but as Autoweg ( dual carriageway ). The section from Hattemmerbroek Kampen Zuid was a third lane extended ( 2 1 configuration) and 2006 the traffic pass. In 2003 a new road was laid using the island bridge west of Kampen for the section between Kampen and Ens. Due to the increasing number of fatal traffic accidents, however, is now planned to extend this route to the highway.
